A corpse of a man in his 40′s was found on the banks of Río La Cuchara (Spoon River), near Putla de Guerrero in Oaxaca, Mexico. The man who was half submerged in mud with his pants down to his feet showed signs of torture with abrasions all over the body and had his penis and testicles amputated.
The victim was later identified as 41 year old Demetrio Cruz Bautista. His brother Apolonio said Demetrio was single and was a farmer in the community of San Sebastián Nopalera. He got along well with his neighbors and was not in debt thanks to his thriving agricultural production business. Still, four days before the discovery of his corpse, he was kidnapped from home by three armed men while working on his ranch.
Probably didn’t pay the “protection” racket, unless there is some significance to his castration (slept with someone’s wife?).
